ABI Research Says 57 Million Tablets Sold by 2015


Another analyst sees big things ahead for the tablet market. ABI Research says that 4 million tablet devices have sold so far but expects that number to skyrocket to 57 million in 5 years.

Acer Has No Plans to Compete With iPad


Acer isn't planning on doing battle on Apple's iPad turf. DigiTimes reports::

(CEO Scott) Lin pointed out that designing an iPad-like device would not pose any technical challenges for Acer, but said such a product does not fit into Acer's business model.

Apple is able to support the iPad through its iTunes ecosystem, while few other makers, including Acer, have comparable experience in operating an online store, Lin noted.

Steve Jobs Fires Back at Adobe


Adobe fought with porn, Apple's Steve Job's is fighting with scorn. When asked why the iPad didn't include Flash, Job's unleashed this verbal tirade:

"Apple does not support Flash because it is so buggy."

"They are lazy," Jobs added about the folks over at Adobe to Wired Magazine. "They have the potential to do interesting things but they refuse to do it."

Jobs went on to say that Flash would be irrelevant once HTML 5 goes mainstream. Ouch!

Amazon Backs Down, Will Allow Macmillan to Charge More for e-Books

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Latest to Talk Smack About iPad


Nintendo President Satoru Iwata is the latest person to say he is unimpressed with the Apple iPad. He recently told the New York Times:

‘It was a bigger iPod Touch. I question whether those features would be enough to get people to buy new machines.”
